I'm currently working on a nonfiction book, tentatively titled If Anything Happens, that looks at football (soccer) as a prism through which to explore questions about immigration, nationalism, race, gender, money, love, and the possibility of belonging. It's in progress, but if you're curious about it, you can read an archive of a newsletter I wrote daily about the 2019 Women's World Cup because I'm a football-loving feminist here. I'm represented by Niki Chang at David Higham Associates.
I was previously an editor at art-agenda, features editor of Rhizome, the managing editor of Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art's WdW Review, the art editor at BOMB Magazine, and senior editor of Modern Painters. I've taught classes on media studies, art history, and writing at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, the Rhode Island School of Design, the City College of New York, and the Center for Curatorial Studies (CCS) at Bard College, where I got an MA in 2011. I regularly give talks in museums and cultural institutions around the world, including the New Museum and MoMA in New York, Chisenhale Gallery in London, NTU CCA in Singapore, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
